myredumbrella.com

Good URL

It's been raining cats and dogs in the Good URL Bad URL mailroom. Here's a submission from Deshion Deshields. This is one of the few times that all lower case works. The red front really helps set it off and the red dot is a nice touch. Also love how the logo integrates the URL. The forecast is sunny and warm for this site.

Funny, while the red font does help to make the URL readable in their logo, it comes across really bad without the color (as in your post's headline). I read it as my redumb rella.

Your blog is very niche & thoughtful, I should say. Seth's link helped me to get here. BTW, why don't you consider editing the RSS feed such that it has the labels inside the post. Please consider it (atleast for dumbs like me, when I am not clear about whether this is a bad or good url!)

Does anyone know of a URL generator? Most seem to be for spammers/cybersquatters. I'm looking for something that you can eneter a few keywords about your business and come up with some catchy names.

The character to the left and the umbrella icon to the right of the image will do a lot to pull browsers' memories back to the website when their offline... just the fact that they're red helps a lot.

Venkatramanan - thanks for your comment. Can't figure out how to include the labels inside the RSS post. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know.

Humanform - outside of the URL generators offered by the domain registrars (GoDaddy, etc.) I am not aware of any tools that allow you to type in keywords and spit out URLs. Anyone out there know any?

Dear Goldman

Thanks for the reply.
I am not aware of any English blog which has labels inside the feed. I knew a news site (in a vernacular called Tamil) which has the labels inside the feed.
The XML is found at:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/satrumun
But also note that its powered by wordpress & not a blogger blog. However if you could achieve it, that will be great!

Venkatramanan
