One misplaced backslash can really cause problems. Now you might be saying, "Who in their right mind would think that the URL is laptopgiving.org/call1-877-70-LAPTOP?" Well, maybe the geniuses behind 1-877-Kars-4-Kids.org. This URL would be much easier to lap up if they slashed the slash.

I agree on this one. Though the "slash" can be nifty in certain placements, this clearly is not one of them.
