OK, so the name of the dealership is Napleton's but the URL is Napletown? Sorry, but it's brown frown for Napletown. :(

DANiELISLANDTechSavvyKIDSCLUB.com

Let's hope they're not teaching kids how to choose and display domain names. Whoever came up with this looooong URL sure was riding the short bus!

You may think the one on the right is a stumper, but if you live in Ohio you will recognize the bumper.

www.agremodeling.com
Maybe it's because I had my eyes on the dash trying to figure out the name of the tune I was jamming to or maybe it's because I'm an URL-aholic but I read the back of this truck bottom up. So my first encounter was with the URL. "Hmmm... AgreModeling.com... sweet!" I thought as I turned my gaze up expecting to find a bunch of hot models sitting in the back of the truck. "DOH!"

www.funerals.pro

Sorry I've been slacking my fellow URLaholics. Please know that I am not yet cured, just busy with other obsessions. You know you're out of the loop when you see a TLD that you didn't know existing. Now I realize I'm no domaining .pro but who knew!?!

Sit Means Sit.com

Peter Askew is back with SkewURL #40. I'll overlook the spacing issues here because the letters are close together enough (not to mention it helps separate the 2 s's) and the Leading Caps make it clear it's an URL. I also think it's a pretty clever URL choice for a dog trainer. This URL is pretty doggone good!

www.ivri.it
I saw quite a few URLs on Vehicles in the bigger cities in Italy. This one was promoting the Instituti Di Vigilanza Reuniti D’Ital. Can’t fault the URL selection here but I don’t love the alllowercase display. I much prefer ALLCAPS when it comes to Abbreviations as that makes the series of letters much more recognizable as an abbreviation and not some weird word. If only ivri-one understood this.

ti.atocos.www
This URL adorned the roof of a taxi cab in Florence. Not sure who they hope to reach with this one but it sure ain’t the passengers inside. And it’s not like Florence is Manhattan, replete with big buildings lining the streets, so there’s not people looking down on cars very often. Alas, I’m left looking down on this URL but not in the manner intended.

oldworldpaintingandrefinishging.com
This one comes courtesy of Kurt Basham. As he observed, "Not only is it incredibly lengthy, it is in all lower case. And in a funky Gothic-y font." This URL is definitely old-school. I'm surprised he's not driving an Oldsmobile.

Fellow URL-aholic Chris likes to spread the URL karma on his truck and while I don't love the dubs I'll give him props for the Leading Caps and shitty URL selection.

Charles Lumpkin spotted this old URL. I won't begrudge them the dubs here because their target audience needs all the help they can get navigating the web. This URL is smoove!

Here's another SkewURL. Goes to show how much alllowercase can skew (no pun intended that time) the meaning. This one could easily be advocating for sex criminals to have a say in whether mothers should keep the babies. This URL display is definitely not a wise choice.

ServiceMASTERClean.com
This dirty URL comes via Alichia Keller. Now, I'm all for branding. But sometimes just slapping a dot-com under a logo does more harm than good. In this case the staggering lines here leave the dot-com hanging and the triangle makes you think that maybe the URL is just Clean.com. Needless to say, these guys need to clean up their URL-act.

www.Atlantagreenplumber.com
Beware Atlanta businesses -- no Bad URL escapes the eye or the lens of Peter Askew! Here the local plumber gets busted with dubs and a mix of case that doesn't work for me. Would much rather have seen straight leading caps. Props on the alternating fonts but the yellow on green reminds me of the color of what's in those clogged pipes. Maybe that's the point, though?? Either way, this URL leaves me feeling green.

www.europeantileandstoneinstallations.com
Dave Walker weighs in with this flaming looooong URL from Calgary. Not sure why but when I look at it the word "penile" pops out at me. Maybe it's because the last SkewURL is still on my mind. Or maybe it's because it's followed by something about stones. Either way, alllowercase does not do this URL any justice. It could really benefit from some shrinkage.
